Obituary

Lawrence Jeffrey Stanard returned home to his Father on April 26, 2011. "Jeff" as he was known to his family and "Lawrence" or "Chicken Hawk" as he was known to his many, many dear friends, lived his life as we all should - enjoying every minute of it, doing what he loved to do – riding bulls and traveling the countryside with his many friends and his long-time faithful companion, a dog named 'Sierra'. He had an unbreakable faith in the Lord, and a deep understanding that all things come from the Lord and that all things are in the Lord's hands. Jeff will be deeply missed by anyone who was blessed by the chance to know and love him during his short visit of 37 years here on Earth. He was a person who gave all he had to anyone who was in need, whether he knew them or not. He was the most unselfish, forgiving, happy, loving, hard-working, faithful, supportive person who ever entered anyone's life. To the World, Jeff was but one person, but to many he was the World…

Jeff was born on October 6, 1973 in Austin, Texas. At an early age he was interested in sports and proved himself in school baseball and football. Shortly after school, his interest became more active in the bull riding scene. He started bull riding in Georgetown, Texas and moved on to riding across the United States and Mexico. His love of bull riding followed him for the rest of his life. Jeff was a very proud member of the Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR).

Jeff was also artistically talented with all types of tile and was responsible for many original patterns he created for friends and family.

Jeff is survived by and will be deeply missed by his grandparents, Lt. Col. James T. Lokey (USAF Ret.) and Dorothy Lokey of Austin; mother, Kathleen Shepard of Hallettsville; father Arthur Stanard of Elgin; sister Jennifer Moffitt, and her daughter Chelsea Schulz of Hallettsville; brother-in-law and sister Charles and Jana Scoggins of Cedar Creek and their children Lyndsey Scallions and daughter Kynleigh, Logan Damron, Lauren Damron, Bryan Scoggins, Brandon Scoggins, Bailey Scoggins and Mason Scoggins; brothers, Bradley Shepard and wife Tammy and children Cody, Courtney, and Casi; Michael Stanard and wife Carol of Ingram; Charles Stanard of Austin; aunts Dr. Karlan Downing and husband Ray LeMaster of Chilton, and Karol Carlson and daughter Kaci of Houston; and uncle James T. Lokey, Jr. of Austin;

Jeff was preceded in death by his step-father, Jerrold Shepard; infant nephew, Shawn Scoggins and great-grandparents Charles and Maurine Whiteside of Waxahachie and Karl and Lenora Lokey of Lubbock.
