Janie Eason Andrews, 79, passed away on May 29, 2026, in Hallettsville, Texas. She was born on September 3, 1946, in Houston, Texas.
Janie lived a life defined by dedication, kindness and love for her family. She was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear.
For nearly 40 years, Janie worked in the banking industry, where she earned the respect and friendship of colleagues and customers alike through her professionalism, integrity and caring nature. Following her retirement in 2008, she and her husband moved to Hallettsville, Texas, where she enjoyed a quieter pace of life and became an active member of the local community.
While living in Lake Jackson, Janie was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. After moving to Hallettsville, she continued her service at St. Peter's Lutheran Church and served on the board of Solid Rock Christian Center for Learning, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to faith, education and service to others.
Janie shared nearly 55 years of marriage with her beloved husband Douglas Andrews. Together they built a life centered on family, commitment and enduring love.
Janie is survived by; her husband Douglas Andrews, her son Jason Andrews & spouse Jeana, and her grandson Tyler, who brought her tremendous pride and joy, along with many other family members and friends.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey & Wandell Eason and her sister Jeraldene "Jerrie" Grantham.
Janie's legacy is one of devotion to family, lasting friendships, faith and service. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength and the love she freely gave to those around her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all whose lives she touched.
Janie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Lake Jackson, Texas, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
