James Leslie Taylor, 69, of Hallettsville, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 29, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born on December 16, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri to Carletta and Charles Taylor.
Jim was a proud Vietnam Veteran, and a retired chief engineer. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed with his straight forward ways, but a giving heart.
Jim is survived by: his loving wife of 44 years, Lupe; his mother Carletta Taylor of Brookshire, TX; sister Jeri Fuller & husband Al of Katy; 5 children, James and William Taylor of Houston, Carlotta Henry of Hallettsville, Sonia Taylor of Hong Kong, and Robert Hawkins from Houston; 11 grandchildren, Trent Davis, Brandon Davis, Spencer Henry, William Gerald Taylor Jr., Lindsay Taylor, Jusmine Taylor, Rhianna Mares, Krystal Taylor, James Ryan Taylor, and Hailee Taylor; 3 great grandchildren, Mia, Mylee and Bentley Taylor; sister-in-laws, Janie, Baudelia and Elda; brother-in-laws, Leonel, Luis and Mel; several nieces & nephew; special friend Kenny Keebler; special friends from the Ice House and Lazy J; and his special companions, who he adored, his dogs, Cooper & Lucy, who will miss him terribly.
Jim was preceded in death by; his father; 2 brothers, Charles & Thomas Taylor; and 2 brother-in-laws, Gume & Edward.
Visitation: 4 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Kubena Funeral Home; with Rosary starting at 7 pm. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: 11:30 am, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.
