IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James John
Liska
February 2, 1938 – January 9, 2015
James John Liska, 76, beloved husband, father, grandpa and devoted Catholic of Sugar Land, TX, passed away peacefully January 9, 2015 on the 7 th year anniversary of his beloved spouse death, Grace Ann Kallus Liska.
James was born February 2, 1938, to the late Mr. & Mrs. John A. and Antonia Konvicka Liska, formerly of Runge, TX. He served in the US Army from Jan. 1961 to Dec. 1962. He married his love of his life, Grace Ann Kallus Liska on July 25, 1964.
James retired from Johnson Controls in 2006, after 11 years of service. He also worked for GAF for 16 years as a Plant Superintendent, and later with Vector Cable Schlumberger as a Production Supervisor.
James was a kind, generous individual. He was gifted in many talents, especially through building, repairing, fixing anything around the house or at the ranch. He loved and enjoyed being outdoors. He cherished the times he spent with his spouse & children at their home in Sugar Land, and the Ranch in Hallettsville.
James was a role model father – He had tremendous faith and always believed in attending and celebrating mass each Sunday. He taught his 3 children many life lessons through his physical toughness, strong will and dedication to his spouse. He always believed in doing the right thing. Dad gave true meaning to the words "A Man, Husband, Father, and Grandpa".
James truly loved his family – although he wasn't the greatest conversationalist – he expressed his love and commitment through actions. James deeply loved his spouse (Grace) and missed her greatly the last 7 years.
James battled Parkinson Disease for over 18 years, and continued to courageously fight the disease, even up to his last days. James managed to stay at home after several hospitalizations in 2014. He was truly blessed to have two wonderful angels from heaven providing care at home, Lucy Ventura and Brenda Grahmann.
Daddy, we all will miss you greatly, take care and we love you.
