Jack L. Moore, 77, of Hallettsville, passed away November 2, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on January 6, 1939 to Loyd L. & Nannie "Doll" Timm Moore in Hallettsville. He graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1957; he was a diehard Brahmas Fan. He joined the US Navy after high school for 4 years. He retired from BASF. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville.
Jack enjoyed hunting, scuba diving, and being a sports fan. He loved football and baseball, watching all the games, especially Texans, Texas Longhorns and the Astros the most.
Jack loved spending time with family and friends. He always offered a hand to help out anyone who needed it. He saw everyone as family and always looked for the best in all those around him. He always had a story or bits of wisdom to share.
Jack is survived by: son Larry Moore & wife Regina of Hallettsville; daughter Jacque Ray of Pearland; sister Linda Schulte & husband Herschel of Hallettsville; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Tyson, Katie, Meghan, David and Richard; and 7 great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, November 7, 2016, at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 4 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Pastor Melanie Monroe. Pallbearers: Wayne Timm, Wallace Jones, Charles Kutach, Carl Timm, Daniel Risinger, Carl Klimitcek, Kale Furrh, and Tim Janak. Memorials: American Cancer Society, Veterans Administration or Donor's Choice. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
