Obituary

Mr. J. W. "Dub" Allee, 77, of Hallettsville, TX, died Feb. 10, 2007. He was born on July 16, 1929, to Horace & Nellie Swearingin Allee in Lovelady, TX. He married Doris Faye Kelley Allee on Aug. 31, 1957 at First Baptist Church in Hallettsville.

Dub was a wonderful husband, father & grandfather. He loved his family & their times together. He enjoyed being outside and working with his cattle, going deer hunting and watching sports. Another pleasure for Dub, was meeting & visiting with people. This helped him have a long & successful career of 40 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. Dub always had a kind word of greeting for friends & acquaintances alike. His quick smile & joking manner will be greatly missed.

Dub was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hallettsville, TEPSA, Lavaca County Retired Teachers Association, and also a Mason. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

Dub is survived by: his loving, dedicated wife of 49 years – Doris Faye Kelley Allee; 3-children, Lisa Cross & husband Jeff of Pearland, Kelley Allee & wife Donna of Giddings, and Shane Allee & wife Amanda of East Bernard; sister Jewel Kinney of Baytown; brother Nueal Allee of Dallas; brother-in-law J. C. Kelley & wife Esther of Hallettsville; grandchildren, Colton Allee, Ashton Allee, Raina Allee, Arynn Cross, and Kaden Allee; step-grandchildren, Kendall Douthit, Amber Donovan, Jeff Cross, and Derrick Cross; and 2-step-great-grandchildren, Katelynn Donovan and Jackson Cross.

Dub was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Evelyn Stephenson and Polly McCarty; brother Horace Allee Jr.; in-laws Bowie and Lucille Kelley; and granddaughter Amanda McElwee.

Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: Noon, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home, with family receiving visitors between 5 pm to 8 pm that Tuesday. Burial: Willow Creek Cemetery. Officiate: Rev. Terry Horton. Pallbearers: Kevin Busselmann, Joe Clark, J.C. Hermes, Jim Johnson, Danny Kelley, David Kelley, Carl Klimitchek, and Jim Story. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren. Memorials: First Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or Charity of your choice.
