Ira Preston "Pete" Revel, 81, of Hallettsville, passed away Sept. 4, 2017. He was born on March 27, 1936 to Raymond I. & Trudie Hanry Revel in Haynesville, LA. He married Patricia Labay on Oct. 3, 1959 at El Campo St. Phillips Catholic Church.
Pete was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, who will be dearly missed. He touched the hearts of everyone that knew him. Pete never met a stranger.
Pete enjoyed outdoor activities. His passion was hunting and fishing. He knew the Lavaca - Navidad River in Lolita in his sleep. Over the years he had many fishing buddies. He enjoyed deer hunting with his family, he never missed a season. He looked forward to the Wild Game Supper and visiting with other hunters.
Pete is survived by: his 3 daughters, Vicki Perez & Brent Matula, Rebecca Schramek & Joseph Schramek, and Raechel Rehm & Morris; brother Kenneth Revel & wife Gay; 2 sisters, Kathleen Hassett and Shirley Reichardt; brother-in-law Ben Labay; 2 sisters-in-law, Linda Labay and JoAnn Labay grandchildren, Cassie Franta (Kyle), Chelsie Gaebler (Shiloh), Tara Hajek (Chris), Chad Rehm, Kyle McKay (Paige), Cadie Perez, Olivia & Jenna Schramek; and 11 great grandchildren, Dixie, Hayden, Kelty, Miranda, Hartly, Kaspyn, Clayton, Paitly, Layton, Mclaine and Tracyn.
Pete was preceded in death: by his true love of 55 years, Patricia Constance Labay Revel; brother Ray Revel; sister Helen Martin; brothers-in-law, Harliss Hassett, L.W. "Pepper" Martin, William Reichardt and Kenneth Labay.
Graveside Service: 10:30 am, Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Memory Gardens of Edna, 1300 North Kleas Street. Visitation: 5 pm, Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Kyle McKay, Chris Hajek, Morris Rehm, Chad Rehm, Brent Matula, Shiloh Gaebler, Kyle Franta and Joe Schramek Jr. Honorary Pallbearers: nieces & nephews. Officiant: Pastor (nephew) Brannon Revel. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or Donor's Choice.
