IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Howard Hugo
Loewe
March 6, 1937 – February 9, 2025
Howard Hugo Loewe, 87 of Hallettsville, was chosen by God to enter the gates of heaven on February 9, 2025. He was born to Willie Gus & Leona Annie Henrichs Loewe on March 6, 1937, in Breslau, Texas. He became a child of God when he was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Breslau Lutheran Church. He was a devoted servant of the Lord all his years.
In his early years, Howard attended Hallettsville ISD and graduated in 1955. He then continued his education earning a two-year associate degree from Victoria College and a bachelor's degree at Texas A&I College with a teaching certification. After graduating, in 1961 He joined the Army and later received an honorable discharge due to a shortage of educators. He found that his niche was teaching. From 1962 until 1992 he taught middle school and high school industrial technology in Houston ISD and Cy-Fair ISD and genuinely enjoyed instructing his students.
Howard met the love of his life Joyce Marie Lacina, one weekend while home from college and they were married on August 12, 1962. They went on to have four children, Dean, Cindy, Mel, & Bert. They built a glorious life together, in their youth, they enjoyed going out dancing. He always made time for a yearly vacation with the family. Howard and Joyce loved to travel, they explored Europe and many states across the US.
In addition to being a dedicated and hardworking husband and father, Howard had a passion for farming and ranching. He would spend from dusk to dawn picking and separating pecans and growing his vegetable gardens. He was never afraid to jump in front of a cow to get the job done. He will always be known as the best "jerry-rigger" (for lack of better words) in the family, there was nothing he could not fix.
Howard joins his parents Willie & Leona, three brothers, Wilbur, Carlwin and Boyce, his eldest son Dean, daughter-in-law Amiee and son-in-law Craig in heaven.
Howard is survived by: his wife of 62 years Joyce; children, Cindy (David), Mel (Cheryl), Bert (Melanie); grandchildren, Joel (Mary), Tenia, Adam, Jonathan, James, Derek, Melissa, Isabel, Matthew and Jacob; and great grandchildren Tristan, Levi, and Mary.
