Mrs. Hildegarde Albina Novosad, 97, of Hallettsville, died Sept. 12, 2007. She was born on Mar. 3, 1910 to Joseph & Cecelia Piwonka Schoppe in Caldwell, Texas. She married J.J. Novosad on Feb. 9, 1931 in Caldwell. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas, Hallettsville Garden Club, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Hildegarde was an avid golf and Bridge player, and an excellent seamstress.

Hildegarde is survived by: 2 sons, Clifford J. Novosad & wife Mary Ann of San Antonio, and Don J. Novosad & wife Susie of Alamo Heights; 3 grandchildren, Dirk Novosad & wife Carol of Memphis, TN, Nathan Novosad & wife Nancy of Hallettsville, and Callie Novosad of San Antonio; and 5 great grandchildren, Talise, Sage, Natlie, Nick, and Kendall.

Hildegarde was preceded in death by: husband J.J. on Oct. 15, 1987; parents; 4 brothers, Elo, Lee, Ivo, and Daniel Schoppe; and sister Margaret Kubin.

Service: 1 pm, Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 4 pm, Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Dirk Novosad, Nathan Novosad, Nick Novosad, Ronnie Novosad, Daniel Lynn Schoppe, Richard Schoppe, Marvin Kubin, and Jay Drgac. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
