IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hettie Elizabeth
Plowman
February 18, 1913 – July 25, 2007
As her children were growing up, she was always eager to support their activities as a scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and room-mother. She was even an enthusiastic camp chaperone numerous times in support of her children's involvement in church and scouting.
Elizabeth's life continued to be centered on her husband and family as she became a grandmother with a very extended family who has many warm memories of "going to Grandmother's House." Her kitchen was the hub of her house where she enjoyed hours making myriad kinds of cookies and candies at Christmas, canning and preserving her gardens bounty, and preparing healthy, delicious meals for family gatherings. Her dining room table, always decorated for the appropriate season and occasion, was intended to make family feel welcomed and special, but it also served as the favorite place for playing late evening games or putting a puzzle together with "Grandmother". Her living room was the place she lovingly spent endless hours making the highly coveted, elaborate Christmas ornaments and stockings all the children and grandchildren adored. Grandmother's house was a reflection of these things and more that she delighted in and cherished—they all reflect her love and devotion to family.
As dear as all these memories are, Elizabeth Plowman's entire family considers her greatest legacy to be found in the love and respect she and her husband shared. Elizabeth had 69 years with Edwin and is survived by four children; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. Her children and their spouses are Betty Fisbeck and Weldon of El Paso, Donald Plowman and Patricia of Victoria, Arthur Plowman and Janice of Port O'Connor, and Keith Plowman and Susan of Lake Jackson.
