Henry E. Melnar Sr., 89, of Hallettsville, passed away November 20, 2010. He was born on January 15, 1921 to Edward & Tracy Janus Melnar in Lavaca County, Texas. He married Hilda Vornsand Melnar on October 21, 1941 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. He was a member of S.P.J.S.T. and Czech Moravian Brethren Church of Vsetin, Texas.

Henry is survived by: his son Henry "Hank" Melnar Jr. & wife Darlene of New Braunfels; 2 grandchildren, Shawn Melnar & wife Sharon of Boerne, and Dawn Melnar Bell & husband Blake of Bryan College Station; and 6 great grandchildren, twins Mason & Sydney, and Dylan Melnar; and Lindsey, Logan and Brady Bell.

Henry was preceded in death by: his wife Hilda; parents; 2 brothers, Charlie and August Melnar; and sister Viola Julia Melnar.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Czech Moravian Brethren Church of Vsetin. Visitation: 4 pm Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Prayer Service: 7 pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Mark Labaj. Pallbearers: Shawn Melnar, Blake Bell, Mason Melnar, Dylan Melnar, Oscar Hinkel, and Erwin Johnson. Memorials: Czech Moravian Brethren Church or Cemetery of Vsetin, or Hospice of South Texas. Burial: Vsetin Cemetery.
