IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry Claude
Jalufka
July 7, 1960 – November 5, 2011
Henry graduated from Moulton High School in 1978. He was a long-time employee of Cal-Maine Foods in Flatonia. He married the love of his life, Judy Henke on June 22, 1985, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Sweet Home. They made their sanctuary in Komensky. They were blessed with two sons, Brian and Eric. In July 2008, Brian married Alison Burnop, thus bringing a daughter into the family. Eric's friend, Stephanie Reynolds became a cherished friend of the family.
Nothing made him prouder than watching his sons grow into the responsible young men they are. He was passionate about the ag mechanics, commercial steers and commercial heifer programs of the Hallettsville FFA. He was very involved with his sons in these projects. He knew these truly made us grow as a family---they were all hard work and took us all working together. He was so proud as his sons excelled in these areas.
Henry enjoyed working the land with his tractor and tending to his beloved cattle. With his sons by his side, he built miles of fences, made countless bales of hay, worked cattle, and completed numerous welding and small construction projects. The family relaxed by fishing in their tank, with yearly trips to Astroworld, Fiesta Texas, and Port Aransas. Recently, Henry and Judy celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with the "ultimate vacation", a 5-day cruise. He found it relaxing to Bar-B-Que and will be remembered for his delicious brisket, chicken, and hamburgers. Giving to others was an important part of Henry's life. Over the years, he donated over eleven gallons of blood to the Blood Bank and he was able to be an organ donor.
He had a special love and respect for his parents, brothers, Mark and wife Mava, Gerard and wife Molly, and sister, Jennifer and husband Donnie, along with their families. It was so important that he spoke to each weekly if not daily. He looked forward to his Sunday evening visits with his mother. He cherished the time he spent with his father, especially in the final years before his death in 2009. It was from this family that he learned to love, to raise cattle, to work the land, his sense of humor, his love of polka music and the game of 42.
Henry had a special bond with neighbors, especially the Hrncir's, Kalisek's, Shade's, and Kurio's. He loved spending time with them and learned so much from them.
His land and cattle brought him so much joy---he knew each of his cattle and was so joyful with the birth of each new calf. He was one with nature as he took his daily walks through his pastures, watching each blade of grass as it sprouted. He was so proud of his hand planted Jiggs and Tifton fields. He respected the earth and lovingly tended to God's beautiful creations.
Henry lived each day as if it were his last; never leaving till tomorrow what can be done today. He always said "When my time is up, my time is up", ready to meet his Heavenly Father.
Henry is survived by: his wife of 26 years, Judy; 2 sons, Brian Jalufka & wife Alison of Leander, and Eric Jalufka of College Station; his mother Angeline Jalufka; sister Jennifer Rothbauer & husband Don; 2 brothers, Mark Jalufka & wife Mava, and Gerard Jalufka & wife Molly, all of Moulton; godchild Jill Smirak; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his father Claude Jalufka.
