Henry Bonewald., 90, of Hallettsville, passed away July 1, 2015. He was born on September 7, 1924 to Willie & Meta Krueger Bonewald in Kingsbury, Texas. He married Dorothy Hlavac on October 31, 1958.

As a youngster, Jack loved to play baseball and he continued to entertain family and friends with his baseball stories. After finishing school at the age of 17, he went to work in the oilfield. He worked as a tool pusher all over the state of Texas and Louisiana. As a young man, he spent weekends hunting and fishing. Later he enjoyed taking his sons shrimping in the Gulf and fishing in the Brazos. Country and Western Music was a great pastime. He was quick to entertain with his guitar at family gatherings. He also enjoyed a game of dominoes here and there. In his later years, Jack's pets gave him much pleasure.

Henry is survived by: his wife Dorothy; 6 sons, Henry Jr. of Deer Park, TX, Jack & wife Lynda of Kansas City, MO, Jerry & wife Johanna of Fulshear, TX, Gary & wife Shirley of Wharton, TX, Ricky & wife Kim of Hallettsville, TX, Bobby of Hallettsville, TX; sister Bertha Payne of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Henry is Preceded in death by his parents; first wife Clara Frances; 2 brothers Alton Bonewald and Pete Bonewald; 1 infant sister.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 p.m., Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Rev. Herb Beyer. Pallbearers: Greg Bonewald, Mike Bonewald, Bradley Bonewald, Brandon Bonewald, Justin Bonewald, Arthur Hlavac, Cody Bonewald and Brenda Bonewald. Honorary Pallbearers: Henry Bonewald III, Jessica Bonewald, Silona Bonewald, Adrienne Kenney and Kaitlin Stubbs. Memorials: St Peter Lutheran Church, South Texas Hospice, or Donor's Choice. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
