Henrietta Janak Jansky, 91, of Hallettsville, passed away peacefully at her home on February 9, 2026. Born on June 18, 1934, she lived a life deeply rooted in love, faith, and family. On August 22, 1954, she married the love of her life, Freddie J. Jansky. Their 52 years of marriage were filled with devotion, adventure, and companionship until his passing in 2007. Together, they traveled, cherished time with friends, and built a beautiful life centered around their growing family.
Henrietta was a member of the K.J.Z.T., The Ladies Auxiliary of the Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Department, as well as a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life. Family and faith were the foundation of everything she did. Visitors to her home could always count on a warm hug and a hot pot of her famous chicken noodle soup, a simple but powerful expression of her love and hospitality.
Henrietta found great joy in gardening. She had a special eye for beauty in nature and took pride in tending her many plants. It was not uncommon for her to pick up seeds during her travels or gather them wherever she went, always looking forward to growing something new.
Henrietta dedicated many years of service as a caring nurse at Renger Memorial Hospital and Steven’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. While she served her community through her profession, she will be remembered most for her role as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. Her nurturing spirit touched generations. In her later years, her dog and loyal companion, Maui, was a cherished and steady part of her daily life.
Henrietta is survived by; her nine children, Kathleen Kostelnik & husband Thomas, Linda Darilek & husband Evan, Michael Jansky & wife Peggy, Cheryl Ludwig & husband Anthony, Patrick Jansky & wife Beverly, Mary Mika & husband Jerry, Robert Jansky & wife Susan, Daniel Jansky & wife Dawn and Carol Henke & husband Dale. Plus 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild: Kristy Gilbert & husband Drew and children Addison, Kora and Timothy; Jennifer Loudon & husband Todd and children Kathryn Kostelnik (Fiancé, Dallas Layton), Karley Kostelnik and Kallie Loudon; Jonathan Jansky & wife Shelley and children Owen, Chloe, Kaylee, Noah, Creed and Evie; Shannon Flesher & husband Scott, and children Easton, Grayson and Holden; Clinton Jansky & wife Jessica, and children Peyton, Gunner, Kade and Ava; Jennifer Hagan & husband Jason and children Slade (Fiancé, Alex Henkes) and Colt; Jeffrey Ludwig and children Paige and Briggs; James Ludwig and children Maverick and Mason; Erin Rygg & husband Matt and daughter Livi; Emilie Walker & husband Layne and children Cru and Lawsyn; Joshua Mika & wife Rachel and children Jerod Moeller (wife Kailey and daughter Marley Sue), Riley Mika, Jace Moeller, Hayden Mika, Alyssa Moeller and Kason Mika; Jairus Mika; Robbie Jansky & wife Esra and children Eymen and Emir; Robin Boswell & husband Tim and children Tucker and Summer; Dustyn Jansky & wife Ieva and children Christopher and Elizabeth; Dayton and Danna Jansky; and Reid, Hayes and Jans Henke; all of whom carry forward her legacy of love.
Henrietta was preceded in death by: her parents John & Cecilie Janak; son Ferdinand Jansky; siblings, Lillie Brenek and Ernest Janak; beloved husband Freddie Jansky and grandson Timothy Kostelnik.
Henrietta was grateful for the unwavering support and compassion she received from her friend and caretaker, Crystal Price.
Henrietta’s life was a testament to enduring love, steadfast faith, and the joy of family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral Mass Service: 11 am, Monday, February 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Visitation starting at 9 am, with Rosary starting at 10:30 am. Pallbearers: grandsons, Jonathan Jansky, Clinton Jansky, Jeffrey Ludwig, James Ludwig, Joshua Mika, Jairus Mika, Robbie Jansky, Dustyn Jansky, Dayton Jansky, Reid Henke and Hayes Henke. Honorary Pallbearers: godsons, Jason Bell, Dennis Jansky, Glen Jansky and Stephen Herman. Officiant: Rev. Michael Rother. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
