Helen Marie Vasek, 83, of Hallettsville, was called home to her lord and savior on July 13, 2025.  She was born August 2nd, 1941, to Edward & Emilia Ehler Biehunko Sr. in Lavaca County.  On October 23, 1965, she married the love of her life Eugene A. Vasek Sr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and made their home in Hallettsville, TX.

Helen enjoyed simple country living.  Cooking and canning fresh vegetables out of Eugene's Garden, caring for her dogs, or doing her puzzle games.  Most of all, she loved her family.

Helen is survived by:  her son Eugene Vasek Jr.; brother-in-law Alvin Vasek Jr.; sister-in-law Julie Schilhab & husband Albert; nephews, Dwayne Schilhab & wife Lisa and their children Emma & Cade, Justin Vasek & Taditha and their children Maislee, Dayton and Krew, Edward Biehunko III & wife Debbie; nieces, Pam Lane & husband Paul and their children Cole and Callie, and Vanessa Smith & husband Keven and their daughter Barbara Ann.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Edward Biehunko Jr. and William Biehunko; sister-in-law Barbara Vasek; and daughter-in-law Marie Vasek.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, July 18, 2025, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville with Visitation starting at 9 am and Rosary at 9:30 am. Pallbearers: Justin Vasek, Keven Smith, Ed Biehunko III, Stan Brown, Jared Brown, and Cade Brewer. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Hallettsville.
