Obituary

Helen De La Rosa, 64, of Hallettsville, passed away Dec. 11, 2010. She was born on Nov. 1, 1946 to Natividad & Juanita Rivera Olivarez in Lavaca County, Texas. She married Henry De La Rosa on Sept. 25, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Helen was in love with her husband, she would do anything for him. They were always together, if it was at a garage sale, Brookshire Brothers, drinking coffee or going to flee markets together. She was a nurse's aid for years. She worked for Stevens Nursing & Rehab for over 30 years. Her current job was with Yoakum Community Hospital. She loved working with the elderly. She had great friends, sisters, brothers and many cousins in her life. She was a simple lady. Helen spoke her mind when needed, just ask around. She & Henry liked to cook together, especially their famous menudo. Everybody came over and if you were the last one in line, there still was some left, because they made enough for everyone in Lavaca County.
