Obituary

Hazel Rucker Bennett, 93, of Hallettsville, passed away Aug. 6, 2013. She was born on Nov. 8, 1919 to Bun & Lelia Einkauf Rucker in Karnes County, Texas. She married Joe Bennett on Aug. 12, 1933 in Cuero. She was a life ling member of the First Baptist Church of Hallettsville.

Hazel is survived by: 2 sons, Joe Alton Bennett & wife Helen, and Billy Gene Bennett Sr. & wife Barbara; daughter Betty Repka & husband Henry; 7 grandchildren, Jack Bennett, Billy Gene Bennett Jr., Dawn Smith, Janet Cammack, Joe Alton Bennett Jr., Rhonda McConnell, and Bruce Repka; 5 great grandchildren, Jonathan Cammack, Nathaniel Smith, Abigail Smith, Nicholas McConell, and Billy Gene Bennett III; and several step great grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by: her husband Joe, daughter Mary Ann Bennett, parents, and 6 siblings, John Thomas Rucker, Rev. Martin Young Rucker, Lydia Leah English Bennett, Nellie Lee Evans, Katie Ray Brown, and Veda Mae Bankhead..

Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiates: Rev. Terry Horton and Rev. Dwight Reagan. Pallbearers: Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Memorials: First Baptist Church, Hospice of South Texas or Donor's Choice. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
