Obituary

Hazel Alford Timm, 94 of Hallettsville, died Friday, May 29, 2015.

Hazel was born April 13, 1921, in Many, LA.   Her parents were Ava Minter Alford and Lawrence Alford. She moved & worked in El Campo after high school. It was there that she met and married Frank L. Timm of Hallettsville on July 7, 1946.

Hazel was known by all as a very sweet lady. Her smile brought happiness to all who witnessed her presence. During her life in Hallettsville, she & Frank owned Timm Tourist Courts located on Hwy. 90A; later at the same location they opened 90A Convenience Store. Hazel also worked as an elementary teacher's aide for many years.

She was a member of The First United Methodist Church, the Alma Circle, the Hallettsville Golf Association, Retired Teachers Association and Hallettsville Reading Club. She enjoyed playing golf in her younger days and loved to watch sports.   Hazel played a lot of dominoes throughout her life and continued to do so while living at College Place in Schulenburg, Texas.

Hazel was loved by her immediate family and was a loving Aunt and Sister-in-law.

Hazel is survived by: daughter Sharon Timm Bujan & husband Charles of Austin; son Allan Timm & wife Mildred of Shiner; 6 grandchildren, April Timm, Nicole Bell, Kara Krauskopf, Bradley Bujan, Charles F. Bujan, & Jon Bujan; and 4 great grandchildren, Ethan Wynia, Maryn Bell, Jacob Bell, and Bria Bujan.

Hazel was preceded in death by: her husband Frank L Timm; son at infancy; parents; 2 sisters, Fern Alford Wilson and Haley Alford; 2 brothers, Ralph Alford and Lawrence Alford Jr.; and nephew Don Wilson.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 6 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Pastor Melanie Monroe and Rev. Joy Richards. Pallbearers: Jerry Timm, Carl Timm, Wayne Timm, Ronnie Richards, Dennis Matula, and Dale Henke. Honorary Pallbearers: Reid Henke and Hayes Henke. Memorials: Alma Circle of the First United Methodist Church, flood victims in Wimberley, TX, or charity of your choice. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
