Obituary

Harry Louis Richardson, 86, Adventurer, World Traveler, and Bon Vivant left on his final journey on September 29, 2016.

He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and after release from service he was employed by Monsanto Chemical as an operator for 35 years, retiring in 1985.  Afterwards, he fulfilled lifelong wishes by traveling to all parts of the world. He loved classic country and bluegrass music, was a history buff and a Master Mason at Lodge #1325 in La Marque, Texas.

He was born in Buckeye, Rapides Parish, Louisiana on July 18, 1930, to his parents, Jesse Richardson and Amy Tarver Richardson.  His parents preceded him on that journey, as did five of his siblings Jesse Richardson, Mott Ryder, Eric Richardson, Ron Richardson, and Homer Richardson and his favorite singer, Ernest Tubb.

Those who saw him off on that journey and who remain to memorialize his life include his four children Marilyn Richardson, Don (Laura) Richardson, Sandra (Jim) Ellis, and Carolyn (John) Weaver; nine grandchildren Abby (Alex) BeMent, Jordan Ellis, Bart Richardson and Hailey (Donnie) Orsak, Nicole (Ryan) Macey, Leigh Ann (Lucas) Vaughan, Stuart Weaver, Grant Weaver, and Abbey Weaver; and five great-grandchildren Bo BeMent, Jake Orsak, Cade Orsak, Dylan Macey and Lily Macey.  Siblings include three sisters Elaine Page, Charlotte White, Julia Ashleigh and brother Gene (Belle) Richardson, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. Although his marriage to Emma Jean Brister, the mother of his children, ended years ago they remained special friends.

Special thanks to staff of Hill Country Memorial Hospice and Hospice Sense.
