Harry Louis Macik, 72, of Wied, passed away Dec. 31, 2016. He was born on Nov. 1, 1944 to Frank J. & Vlasta Kubala Macik in Seymour, TX. He married Vernell Ohnheiser on Nov. 28, 1968 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg. He was a veteran in the US Army; member of KJT, Catholic Life, Knights of Columbus #2433, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.
Harry is survived by: wife Vernell; 4 children, Kerri Darilek & husband Paul of Stockdale, Kim Jobb of LaGrange, Kevin Macik & wife Stacey of College Station, and Kirby Macik & wife Melissa of Caldwell; 2 brothers, James Macik & wife Debbie, and Nick Macik & wife Shirley; sister Dorothy Prasifka & husband Tim; and 9 grandchildren, Chloe, Seth & Blake Darilek, Jena & Colt Jobb, Blair Macik, Koy, Kierstyn & Kayson Macik.
Harry was preceded in death by; his parents, father and mother-in-law Alfred & Florine Ohnheiser, brother Edward J. Macik, and brother-in-law James Ohnheiser.
Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 pm. Pallbearer: Mark Brewer, Larry Mynarcik, Patrick Macik, Tommy Prasifka, Wesley Matus, and Chad Macik. Honorary pallbearers: his godchildren, Valerie Orsak, Billy Macik & Dennis Janak; nephews, Trent and Dustin Ohnheiser; niece Dianna Kurtz; and his 9 grandchildren. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Sacred Heart Church, Knights of Columbus Father Mathis Council #2433 Building Project or MD Anderson Hospital. Burial: St. Ludmilla's Catholic Cemetery.
