Guy H. Ponton, 88, of Hallettsville, passed away Jan. 3, 2010. He was born on June 13, 1921 to Grover & Laura Berkenhoff Ponton in Koerth. He served 3 years in the US Army during WWII in Europe. He married Dorothy Kahanek on June 27, 1946 in Hallettsville. He was a Men's Clothing salesman in Houston till his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, V.F.W., the Order of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Guy is survived by his wife Dorothy, and brother-in-law Lee R. Kahanek, and preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation: 11 am, Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Kubena Funeral. Funeral Service: 1 pm, Wednesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Donor's Choice.
