IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory A.
Gutierrez
February 14, 1965 – January 29, 2020
Gregory A. Gutierrez, 54, of Hallettsville passed away January 29, 2020. He was born on Feb. 14, 1965 to Jimmy & Sarah Gutierrez in Schulenburg.
Greg was a one of a kind man. He was strong minded, loving, and loyal. He loved to leave everyone he talked to with a smile. You could find him telling jokes that went on for days.
Growing up as the youngest of three brothers is usually a tough task, and for Greg there was no exception. There were many arguements and fights between Greg and his siblings, but there was never a time where Greg didn't have their backs if one of them had a problem. To say Greg was a tough man would be an understatement. He once fell sixty feet and walked away with no broken bones. That day he said, "God caught me".
Greg loved hanging out with his friends throughout his younger days. Listening to Rock & Roll and cruising back roads were just a couple things he did. If you could call Greg your friend, you knew it meant you were family.
Soon all of that toughness took a back seat when it came to raising his three sons. Greg shared his love for the water with his sons. You could always find them at the beach, the Guadalupe River, Schlitterbahn, or the famous Rocky Creek. His boys were either swinging on his arms or swinging off of rope swings.
Greg had many titles in his lifetime, but the most important was Papaw. There was nothing Greg wouldn't do for his grandbabies. They brought him so much joy in his later years of life. Wherever those babies were is where Greg wanted to be no matter what.
Gregory is survived by: his mother Sarah; 3 sons, Jacob Gutierrez, Joshua Gutierrez, and Jeremy Gutierrez; 2 stepchildren, Kirsten & Briar; 2 brothers, Jimmy Gutierrez III and Eddy Gutierrez; sister Lee Ann Mizera & husband Anthony; 5 grandchildren; and 4 step grandchildren.
Gregory was preceded in death by: his father Jimmy Jr.; his grandparents; 2 uncles, August and Frank Sr. Gutierrez; and aunt Carolyn Migl.
Memorial Service: 2 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Hallettsville. Officiant: Pastor Nick Ferguson.
