Obituary

Gracie B. Clark, 89, of Hallettsville, passed away September 20, 2010. She was born on April 3, 1921 to Jenry L. & Ara Lewis Nowlin in Polk County, Texas. She married Leo Clark Jr. on July 26, 1957 at Pine Grove Church of Christ. She was a member of Hallettsville Church of Christ.

Gracie graduated from Huntsville High School in 1938. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Sam Houston State College in 1941. She taught elementary school for 34 years before retiring from Hallettsville Independent School District in 1981.

Gracie is survived by: sister and brother-in-law Emma and Conway Cone; brother and sister-in-law Lewis and Barbara Nowlin; 4 nephews, John Frank Milam, Steven Nowlin, James Richardson, and Jeff Nowlin; 4 nieces, Rebecca Walker, Connie Hamilton, Jonelle Gorman, and Nancy Nowlin; 3 great nephews; and 9 great nieces.

Gracie was preceded in death by: her husband Leo; parents; brothers, Light Frederick Nowlin, J.E. Nowlin, and Sammy Nowlin; sisters, Savillia Lee Nowlin and Corrine Richardson; brother-in-law B.J. Richardson; Sisters-in-law, Lillie Clay Milam and Virginia Nowlin; and nephew Larry Cone

Funeral Service: 2 pm, Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 5 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Minister Elvis Johnston. Pallbearers: Charles "Cotton" Hubert, Gary Clark, Neil Schmidt, Jeff Nowlin, James Richardson, and Sean Gorman. Honorary Pallbearers: Steve Nowlin, Dennis Satsky, Aubrey Clark, and David Hamilton. Burial: Clark Family Cemetery.
