IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenn Wayne
Michalcik
April 11, 1955 – August 6, 2025
Glenn Wayne Michalcik, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on April 11, 1955, to Alfons and Lillie Michalcik. He was the youngest of three sons. He was a lifelong resident of the Bila Hora area, where he cherished his family and friends.
Glenn met Barbara Rehm at the Sacred Heart Church picnic, and they dated for three years before getting married on September 13, 1975. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership, built through decades of shared experiences and mutual support.
Together, Glenn and Barbara raised four children; their son Shane and daughters, Shanna, Debbie and Devonne. He leaves behind a proud and loving legacy through his grandchildren; Dillon Moreno, Melody Moreno, Trenton Michalcik, Julie Michalcik, Blaine Bock, Blakely Bock and Lucian Kelly, as well as his great-grandchild Dean Moreno. His family was his pride and joy, and he dedicated his life to nurturing and cherishing them.
A graduate of Hallettsville High School in 1973, Glenn began his impressive 48-year career at Utex on July 9, 1973. His strong work ethic, loyalty, and quiet leadership earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He was known for his wisdom, wit, and a stubborn dedication to everything he put his mind to. He was a simple man who stood firm in his values, a trait that endeared him to all who knew him.
Glenn's interests were as varied as his many talents. The self-proclaimed Sheriff of Bila Hora found peace and fulfillment in the great outdoors—hunting, fishing, and riding his mule in the evenings. He enjoyed watching deer, working on woodworking projects, gardening, and spending time at family gatherings and events, which always filled his heart with joy.
The Michalcik family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered condolences, brought food, or kept them in their prayers during this difficult time. Special thanks are extended to the staff at MD Anderson, Lisa Baker, and Hospice of South Texas for their exceptional care and support.
In honoring Glenn's life, let us remember the wise, hardworking, and loyal man he was—and carry forward his spirit of love, strength, and dedication to family. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
Glenn was preceded in death by; his parents Alfons & Lillie Michalcik, his brothers, Alton and Ervin Michalcik and his beloved grandson Bowen Bock.
Glenn is survived by: his devoted wife of 49 years Barbara (Rehm) Michalcik; their son Shane Michalcik & wife Christie; their daughters, Shanna Moreno, Debbie Kelly & husband Stephen and Devonne Bock & husband Charlie; and grandchildren.
