Gladys Ann Stratmann, 82, of Spring, formerly of Victoria, passed away on June 11, 2009. She was born on March 24, 1927 to Henry & Josephine Appelt Startz in Hallettsville. She married Bernard A. Stratmann on July 27, 1946 in Hallettsville. She has been a custom seamstress for over 50 years.

Gladys is survived by: 2 sons, James Ray Stratmann of Port O'Conner, and Royce Lee Stratmann of Magnolia; 2 daughters, Linda Talbott of LaSalle, and Martha Jean Wingfield of Spring; brother Clifford Startz; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.

Gladys was preceded in death by; her husband Bernard, son Bernard 'Boots' Stratmann, parents, and sister Mildred Bowen.

Graveside Service: 10 am, Monday, June 15, 2009 at Witting Cemetery. Officiate: Deacon Steve Borowicz. Burial: Witting Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers: Joshua Stratmann, Troy Tait, Greg Tait, Jody Ray Stratmann, Christopher Baker, Tyson Bollinger, Jamey M. Baker. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas.
