Gladys Dodds Koehn, 90, of Hallettsville, passed away Feb. 6, 2010. She was born in Hallettsville on March 16, 1919 to Ben & Augusta Zappe Buske. She married Ronnie Dodds on June 29, 1941. She was the Sheriff of Lavaca County from Sept. 1969 to Jan. 1, 1971, having filled out the unexpired term of her husband who was killed in the line of duty.

Gladys is survived by: 2 daughters, Veronica Mulryan & husband Tony of Houston, and Elissa Rothbauer & husband David of Moulton; son Ronnie Dodds & wife Joyce of Houston; 7 grandchildren, John Mulryan, Tracy Mulryan, Heather Mulryan, Dale Dodds, Cheryl Burg, Robin Branecky, and Chad Rothbauer; 12 great grandchildren, Mary Womack, Becca Womack, Casey Mulryan, Cully Mulryan, Stacy Jennings, Conner Jennings, Ryan Dodds, Mary Dodds, Kyle Dodds, Tyler Burg, Blake Burg, and Brooke Rothbauer; and step-sister Harriet Short.

Gladys was preceded in death by: husbands, Ronnie Dodds and Walter Koehn; parents; 2 sisters, Constance Darnell and Adela Richardson; step-father John Meyer; and step-brother Franklin Meyer.

Visitation: 2 pm, Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: John Mulryan Jr., Dale Dodds, Chad Rothbauer, Douglas Branecky, Cully Mulryan, and Randy Burg. Officiate: Rev. Michael Rother. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
