Gertrude "Trudy" "Gertie" Matilda Janak, 85, of Hallettsville, passed away February 13, 2021.  She was born on November 29, 1935, to Julius J. & Helen Woitaske Grahmann, in Hallettsville.  She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and worked the farm with her family.  She married Eugene A. Janak of Wied on October 1, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville and was a devoted wife and mother.  She enjoyed attending daily Mass, traveling, working in the garden, and embroidering but her best times in life were spent with her family, relatives and friends.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, Christian Mothers and KJZT.

Trudy is survived by:  her husband Eugene; 2 sons, Russell Janak and Bradley Janak & wife Theresa; daughter Kay Teeple & husband Micha; brother Andrew J. Grahmann; sister Mary Bruening; 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Trudy was preceded in death by:  her parents; brother David J. Grahmann; and 5 sisters, Viola Grahmann, Frances Hanslik, Irene Barton, Virginia Pustka and Thelma Spies.

Funeral Mass Service (All attendees must wear masks): 3 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, TX; with Rosary starting at 2:30 pm; and Visitation starting at 1:30 pm. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
