Geraldine Marie Gerlich Taylor, 96, of Hallettsville, TX., passed away on November 9, 2024.  She was born to William and Justina Orsak Gerlich on February 12,1928, in Hallettsville, Texas.

In her youth, Geraldine enjoyed riding horses and playing the trumpet.  She married Waymon Joel Taylor Sr. November 16, 1946 in Houston, Texas.  Geraldine was a hard worker all of her life.  She didn't retire until she was 82 years old, from the City of Houston. She was a caring and giving person who would help friends and family and also loved to donate to church picnics.

Geraldine was preceded in death by; her husband, her parents, 1 stepson Waymon J. Taylor Jr. and her sister Gladys Hagan.

Geraldine is survived by her: daughter Darlene Marie Taylor of Hallettsville; brother Gilbert Gerlich & wife Helen of Baytown; nieces Michelle Gerlich Funk & Doug, Laura Estes & Tim, Sharon Jacob & Larry and Susan Scott & Wesley; nephews Jerry Gerlich & Kelly, Jim Gerlich & Kim, and Kevin Gerlich; and loving friend Tammie Felchak.

Funeral Mass Service: 1 pm, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, Visitation starting at noon, with Rosary at 12:30 pm. Officiant: Father Christopher Bediako. Pallbearers : Jerald Gerlich, Jimmy Gerlich, Kevin Gerlich, Craig Mayo, Timothy Estes, and Wesley Scott. Memorials : Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
