Georgia Ann Schaefer , 83, of Hallettsville, passed away June 17, 2017. She was born February 4, 1934, in Hallettsville, Texas to John Paul and Aloisa Zapalac. She married Roland Gilbert Schaefer, on December 28, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also a member of S.P.J.S.T, K.J.T., and American Legion Auxiliary Post 230.

Georgia was a great cook, a seamstress, and loved to garden. She enjoyed life with her husband Roland; they went to country music shows, dinner theater and volunteering for their community.

Georgia is survived by her husband; 3 daughters Debora Freetage & husband Gary of Willis, Texas, Barbara Hansen of Spring, Texas, and Elizabeth Delacruz & husband Gabriel of Houston, Texas; 1 sister Albina Hughe of Pflugerville; 4 Grandchildren Rabeca Birdwell & husband John, Jason Walker & wife Stephanie, Mathew Walker and Nathan Walker & wife Lenzi; 6 Great grandchildren Kyle Kirk, Micah Kirk, Chloe Birdwell, Gavin Walker, Natalie Grace Walker, and Madison M. Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons Stephen and Gilbert Schaefer, and 1 sister Louise Tesch.

Funeral Mass Service : 11 am, Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 5 pm, Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary at 7pm. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers: Jason Walker, William Hayes, Robert Tesch, J.R. Tesch, Carl Hauk, and Dale Schaefer. Honorary Pallbearer: James Rains. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Donor's Choice. Burial : St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
