IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Georgia Ann
Bujnoch
February 19, 1927 – May 22, 2020
Georgia Ann Bujnoch, 93, of Hallettsville, passed away May 22, 2020. She was born on February 19, 1927, to Henry & Martha Naiser Dorotik in El Campo.
When you love someone, it's difficult to find the right words to express all the characteristics that make them special, not just to you but also to others. Georgia was a role model for people of all ages, but especially seniors. Even though her body aged, her mind remained clear and sharp. She exercised her mind by following current events, playing dominoes and reading until her vision failed. Her continuous zest for life up to the age of 93 never ceased to amaze her children and all the caregivers who looked after her for many years.
Georgia was a risk taker. As a young woman she left her rural life to seek her future in the urban area of Houston. She began her career as a clerk in a Houston bank. Meeting her husband, Leon, at a weekend country dance proved she was on the right path as he shared her ambitions and discipline for hard work. Their courtship led to marriage in 1949 in New Taiton, TX.
Georgia was instrumental in being the visionary with Leon to launch Industrial Casting into a successful business. In addition to supporting Leon with the business, she was also a homemaker and mother to five (5) children.
During their marriage, they enjoyed traveling to Europe and especially trips to Mexico for sail fishing. Georgia encouraged her children to travel and experience the world, something unknown to her and Leon during their childhoods.
When Leon passed away in 2003, Georgia was able to adapt due to her independent nature. She had always been an equal partner with him in marriage.
Among her many activities, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Czech Heritage Club, the Garden Club, the KJZT, 42 Dominoes Granny Club and served as treasurer for the Serra Club. She thoroughly enjoyed being part of these organizations and she took her responsibilities seriously. She thrived on being part of groups that had history and embodied her beliefs.
Her interest in people and their lives was genuine. Driving cancer patients to appointments for treatments was a way to help others during difficult periods. She knew she was blessed in her own life and she wanted to give what she had received. As a benefactor for the Hallettsville Junior Livestock show, she made a difference in educational opportunities for so many young students.
Georgia definitely had a green thumb and loved plants and flowers. She enjoyed taking cuttings and watching them grow into something magical. Nothing gave her more pleasure than sharing her creations with others by passing on cuttings to friends and family. It is impossible for her daughters to look at a Crown of Thorns, the Christ plant, without thinking of her.
Georgia was incredibly blessed with 6 (six) grandchildren and three (3) great-grandchildren. They brought immense joy to her life. She was able to participate in their lives in a way her parents probably never did as times were so different then.
Georgia was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and we thank God for keeping her with us for so very long. Our family and all of her friends are truly blessed. Rest in peace. We love you so much.
