George A. Peterson, 89, of Houston, passed away July 15, 2015. He was born on September 25, 1925 to Oscar A. & Alice Youtzy Peterson. He married Gladys Reatha Sicko on May 24, 1949 in San Antonio. He served in the US Navy during WWII.

George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend! His favorite hobby was spending time at his farm where he enjoyed working on his tractors, heading up projects and spending time with friends! Some words to describe George would be strong, caring, compassionate, demanding, strong willed, intelligent, loyal and wonderful. His big personality will be remembered and cherished by all those who knew and loved him!

George is survived by: 3 sons, Vance Peterson & wife Tabetha of Sealy, Scott Peterson & wife Heather of Katy, and Todd Peterson & wife Robyn of Katy; sister, Mary Margaret Strickland of Houston; 5 grandchildren, Lauren Najari, and Richard, Caitlin, Peyton and Preston Peterson; and 1 great grandchild, Ava Najari.

George was preceded in death by: his wife Gladys; parents; brother, James Peterson; and sister Ruth Gerdes.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Kubena Funeral Home; with Visitation starting at 9 am. Pallbearers: Charles Coldewey, Richard Peterson, Travis Rutledge, Mike Sargent, David Sicko, ans Ron Sicko. Officiant: Brother Jeremy Kraatz. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
