Obituary

Gene A. Tesch, 63, of Hallettsville, passed away April 27, 2010 in the Hallettsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. He was born on December 20, 1946 in Hallettsville, Texas, to the late Woodrow H. & Lillian Woytek Tesch. He was a member of the Vietnam Veteran Chapter 854 and Vsetin Czech Moravian Brethren Church.

Gene served with the U S Marine Corps during Vietnam. He received the Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze service star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

Gene is survived by: his sister Alice Catalena & husband Billy of Houston; his brother Jerry Tesch & wife Gail of Hallettsville; and his nephews, Jeremy Tesch, and Mark Catalena & wife Heather and their son Lucas Catalena.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hallettsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Dr. Powell, Lavaca Medical Center, and Hospice for all of their special care and attention to our loved one.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, April 30, 2010, at Vsetin Czech Moravian Brethren Church. Visitation: 2 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Prayer Service: 7 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Mark Labaj. Pallbearers: Ronnie Mascheck, Glenn Blahuta, Laddie Bucek, Mark Catalena, Jeremy Tesch, and Pat Bollom. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials: Vietnam Veteran Chapter 854 or Donor's Choice.
