Gary Stephen Meaux, 71, of Hallettsville, passed away August 8, 2025, at Detar Hospital in Victoria, TX as a result of complications due to cancer. He was born on October 16, 1953, to John & Wanda Nunez Meaux, at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas.  He married Sharon Leah Couch.

Gary went to Saint Catherine's grammar school as well as Bishop Byrne high school.  He graduated from Lamar University with an accounting degree.  He moved to Houston shortly thereafter and pursued his career as an accountant.

Gary then moved to Hallettsville to get away from the hustle and bustle of Houston, but he still continued to commute ever so often and continued his work.  He even continued to work while he was sick.

Gary is survived by; the love of his life for over 40 years Sharon Couch, his sister Leslie, brother Dwight & wife Mary Beth and their children Jessica & Kevin; step child Steven; step grandchildren, Michelle and Bradon; and step great grandchildren, Nathan and Heaven.

Gary was preceded by death by; his parents John & Wanda Meaux, as well as his siblings, Dean (age 13) and Rhonda (at birth), and step child Annette.

Funeral Service/Visitation: 10 am to 12 noon, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Kubena Funeral Home; then Burial at Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): please consider donating to a cancer treatment organization.
