Gary Herbert Etzler, of Hallettsville, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, with his wife by his side at the Dornburg Hospice Facility in Victoria TX, at the age of 65.  He was born in Hallettsville on July 9, 1959, to Herbert and Georgia Kristek Etzler.  His last employment was for Lavaca County in Hallettsville.

Gary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  He attended and graduated at Sacred Heart Catholic School.  He loved his family and friends.  He loved pitching washers and throwing cornhole.  He loved fishing, hunting, playing dominoes, gardening, and playing with his granddaughters.  He also loved to keep his lawn mowed.

Gary will be missed by everyone.

Gary is survived by:  his wife Darlene Dziadek Etzler (Dolly); his daughter Holly Neubauer & husband Nick of Shiner, son Brady Etzler & wife Lindsey of Austin; granddaughters, Jaycie Neubauer, Paige Neubauer, Corinne Neubauer, Payton Etzler and Rylie Etzler; sisters, Barbara Patek of Katy, Diane Kallus & husband Joe of Hallettsville and Sandra Migl & husband Paul of Hallettsville; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by, his parents Herbert & Georgia Etzler and brother David Etzler.

Funeral Mass Service: 2:30 pm, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: starting Monday at 5 pm with Rosary starting at 7 pm, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Anthony Kristek, Ronnie Pekar, Mike Kallus, Ronald Berkenhoff, Luis Camarillo and Noe Miranda. Honorary Pallbearers: Jaycie Neubauer, Paige Neubauer, Corinne Neubauer, Payton Etzler, Rylie Etzler and Preslie Foster. Officiant: Rev. Michael Rother. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
