Freddie J. Jansky 1935-2007

It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Freddie Joseph Jansky, 72, of Hallettsville. Freddie passed away at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 4, 2007. He was born in Lavaca County on March 19, 1935; he was the son of the late Adolph and Mary Pauline (Cinadr) Jansky. Freddie is survived by Henrietta (Janak) Jansky, his beloved wife of 52 years; his children, Kathleen Kostelnik and husband Thomas, Linda Darilek and husband Evan, Michael Jansky and wife Peggy, Cheryl Ludwig and husband Anthony, Patrick Jansky and wife Beverly, Mary Mika and husband Jerry, Robert Jansky and wife Susan, Daniel Jansky and wife Dawn, and Carol Henke and husband Dale. 19 grandchildren, Kristy (Kostelnik) Gilbert, Timothy Kostelnik, Shannon (Jansky) Flescher, Jonathan and Clinton Jansky, Jennifer (Ludwig) Hagan, Jeffery and James Ludwig, Erin and Emilie Jansky, Joshua and Jairus Mika; Robbie, Robin and Dustyn Jansky, Dayton and Danna Jansky, Reid and Hayes Henke. 7 great-grandchildren, Addison and Kora Gilbert, Kathryn Kostelnik, Slade Hagan, Paige Ludwig, Riley and Hayden Mika. One sister Patsy Fabian and husband Robert; three brothers, Joseph and wife Dorothy, Charles and wife Dorothy, and Alphonse and wife Cheryl.

Freddie was preceded in death by: his parents Adolph & Mary; 2 brothers, Adolph and Jerome Jansky; and son Ferdinand Joseph Jansky.

Freddie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. He was a member of the National Guard Unit in Gonzales, the Knights of Columbus, KJT, Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Department, and an officer of the Lavaca Flood Control District. Freddie was in partnership with his brother Joe for approximately 35 years at Jansky Brother's Dump Truck Service. After "retiring", he continued to work with his sons at Sweet Home Sand & Gravel, and Jansky's Sand & Gravel.

Family and faith was always first and most important to Freddie, he loved to travel with his wife and friends, he also enjoyed spending his time listening and singing polka music, hunting, fishing, gardening, ranching, and gambling with family and friends.

Service: 2 pm, Sunday, July 8, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation: Noon, Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate : Rev. Charles Sonnier. Pallbearers: Grandsons - Timothy Kostelnik; Jonathan, Clinton, Robbie, Dustyn, and Dayton Jansky; Jeffery and James Ludwig, Joshua and Jairus Mika, Reid and Hayes Henke. Honorary Pallbearers: Granddaughters - Kristy Gilbert, Shannon Flescher, Jennifer Hagan; Erin, Emilie, Robin, and Danna Jansky. Godsons: Stephen and Dewayne Herman; Glenn, Ronnie, and Dennis Jansky, and Jay Bell. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Hospice of South Texas, 404 S.
