Fred William Chovanetz, 76, of Hallettsville, passed away June 21, 2023.  He was born on December 10, 1946, to Fred J. & Anna Belle Buehrig Chovanetz, in Cuero, TX.  He married LaVerne Muehr on April 9, 1967, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, and blessed with on son Christopher.

Fred worked for Alcoa for 30 years and retired.  After a few years, he went to work at Hoffer's Drive In Grocery, which he enjoyed.  He loved being in the country and feeding his deer and calves that we would raise.

Fred is survived by:  his wife of 56 years, LaVerne; son Christopher Chovanetz & wife Michele; grandchildren, Kayleigh & Kyler Chovanetz; brothers, James Chovanetz & wife Rida, and Charles Chovanetz & wife Julie; sister Natalie Brandt & husband Jimmy; sister-in-law Mary Sparks; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Fred was preceded in death by; parents, brother Mike Chovanetz and sister-in-law Kathleen Chovanetz.

Many thanks to the staffs of, Stevens Nursing & Rehab Center and Hospice of South Texas, for their excellent care with love and dignity, which was provided by all.
