Frank P. Henke, 94, of Hallettsville passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 18, 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family, who prayed in thankfulness to God for the gift of his life. He was a loving husband and wonderful Daddy. He was born April 3, 1921 in Hallettsville to Joseph and Amelia Janecek Henke. He married Evelyn Kristek November 10, 1948. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage. To this union seven children were born.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country during World War II from 1942 to 1946 as a Medical Technician. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, working outside and reading. He was a former employee of Morgan Portable Buildings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry, John, and August, son-in-laws Dennis Smirak and Henry Jalufka. He is survived by his loving wife, and seven children: Michael Henke and wife Princess, Sharon Gaidusek and husband Raymond, Diana Starnes and husband Michael, Debra Technik and husband Bob, Judy Jalufka, Douglas Henke, and Joan Henke. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, sister in law Georgie Henke, brother in law and sister in law Herbert and Georgie Etzler and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Frank P. Henke expresses their sincere gratitude to Accolade Hospice for their compassionate care. They would also like to thank all the family and friends for their presence, visits and prayers during this time.
Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Friday, January 22, 2016, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sweet Home, TX. Visitation: 4 PM, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home with a Rosary starting at 7 pm. Pallbearers : Grandsons: Jason Henke, Ryan Henke, Aaron Henke, Stephen Gaidusek, Chad Smirak, Brian Jalufka and Eric Jalufka. Officiant: Rev. Charles Sonnier with concelebrant Msgr. James Henke. Memorials: Queen of Peace Catholic Church or Donor's choice. Burial: Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Sweet Home, TX.
