Obituary

Mrs. Frances "Fannie" L. Honish, 90, of Ezzell, died Sept. 20, 2007. She was born on Dec. 23, 1916 to Joseph & Frances Brown Matula in Ezzell Community. She married Louis A. Honish on Jan. 19, 1937 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Koerth. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Fannie was a lifetime resident of Lavaca county, living most of her 90 years around Ezzell, except for a short time during childhood when she lived at Vienna. She was jolly, a bit shy at times, kind-hearted, resilient, a loyal friend, a Gardner, hard worker, animal lover, seamstress, quilter, great cook, reader, Seinfeld fan.

Those who knew her got a "kick" out of her wittiness--she was "sharp as a tack". At family gatherings you would often hear "Oh, Aunt Fannie" or "Awwww Fannie!" followed by knee-slaps, chuckles, laughter. Her mind was younger than her years and her knowledge was much greater than her unworldliness would have suggested. She had a deep-rooted faith that sustained her through the hard times and helped her see the bright side.

Fannie is survived by: daughter Elaine Heinemann & husband Leo of Cuero; 2 grandchildren, Kimberly Heinemann, and Kyle Heinemann & wife Emily; and great grandchild Hannah Heinemann.

Fannie was preceded in death by; husband Louis, and parents.

Fannie has now joined her family in Heaven, and surely she and Louis are joking and playing pranks, just like old times. Mom, Grandma, we love you and are so blessed that you were a part of our lives for so long. May you be blessed with eternal light and peace.
