Frances Marie Koonce, 78, of Hallettsville, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014. She was born on November 17, 1935 to Oscar & Lola Jacobs of Ezzell. She married John "Dennis" Koonce on June 27, 1954 in Hallettsville.

Frances and her husband Dennis lived in Houston till 1968, when they moved to Sugar Land. In 1989 she retired from Texas Instruments, with 19 years of service, and moved to Ezzell. She and Dennis loved to fish and hunt squirrels, and she usually got the most. After Dennis passed away in 1994, she continued with the cattle and vegetable garden. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Frances is survived by: daughter Brinda Cullar & husband Keith of Sugar Land; 2 sons, Jerl Koonce & wife Rose of Victoria, and Michael Yarbrough & wife Cindy of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Susan Cranfill & husband Allen, Brian Cullar, J.D. Koonce, Lance Yarbrough & wife Alecia, and Tish Houchin & husband Jim; 3 great grandchildren, Amber Yarbrough, Fiona Houchin and soon to be Katerina Cranfill; 2 dear cousins, Patty Jensen, and Mary Fink & husband Micky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Dennis and parents.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Rev. Terry Horton. Pallbearers: J.D. Koonce, Brian Cullar, Tommy Koonce, Jack Koonce, Chris Garcia, Bill Davis, Brian Jensen, and Chad Fink. Memorials: Charity of Your Choice. Burial: Speaks Cemetery.
