Obituary

Frances Wilhemina Grahmann Hanslik, 87, of Witting, went home to be with our Lord on August 3, 2020.  She was born on June 16, 1933 to Julius & Helen Grahmann of Hallettsville, Texas.  She married Julius Pete Hanslik on September 20, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.  They made their home on the Hanslik family farm in Witting, TX, where they tended the land, raised livestock and created a family of ten children.

Frances was a devout wife, mother, farmer and a woman of great faith.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking/baking, canning/preserving, playing dominoes, singing, dancing and visiting with her neighbors and family.  She was also a woman of great faith, providing a great example for her children.  She was a devoted Catholic, a religious education teacher and a member of the St. Mary's Cemetery Association and Altar Society.

Frances is survived by:   her children, son Michael Hanslik & wife Margaret of Moulton, daughter Sandra Pustka & husband Edward of Hallettsville, son Patrick Hanslik of Moulton, daughter Beverly Hrncir & husband William 'Billy' of Hallettsville, son Kenneth Hanslik & wife Denise of Victoria, son Dennis Hanslik & wife Kathy of Smithville, daughter Carol Becan & husband Samuel of Siloam Springs, AR, daughter Donna Baron & husband Christopher of La Grange and son Paul Hanslik & wife Ashley of Moulton; twenty-one grandchildren; nine great grandchildren;  brother Andrew Grahmann of Stafford, TX; and two sisters, Gertrude Janak of Hallettsville, TX, and Mary Bruening of Shelby, TX.

Frances was preceded in death by; her spouse Julius, parents, one brother, four sisters, and son Mark Gerard Hanslik.

Funeral Mass Service (All attendees must wear masks): 10:30 am, Friday, August 7, 2020, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Rosary starting at 10 am. Visitation: 5 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Mark Hanslik, Matthew Hanslik, David Pustka, Stratton Hrncir,  Sterling Hrncir, Keith Hanslik, Gabrielle Hanslik and Blaise Becan. Honorary Pallbearers: All remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): St. Anthony's and St. Mary's Cemetery Association, Hospice of South Texas or donor's choice. Burial: St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
