Felipa "Lily" R. Hernandez, 88, of Hallettsville, passed into the arms of Jesus on April 19, 2015. She was born on May 1, 1926 to Manuel & Manuela Navarro Rivera in Lavaca County, TX. She married Cano G. Hernandez on April 26, 1947 in Hallettsville. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Lily was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She spent her lifetime cherishing moments spent with her family and helping out on the ranch. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting.

Lily is survived by: 4 sons, Paul Hernandez of Sheridan, Cano Hernandez Jr. of Dayton, Tommy Hernandez of Crosby, Joe Hernandez of Sheridan, and Simon Hernandez; 3 daughters, Dolores Kazmir of Sheridan, Molly Garza of Sheridan, and Lucy Rodriguez of Garwood; 24 grandchildren; and 41 great grandchildren.

Lily was preceded in death by: her husband Cano Hernandez Sr.; parents; 3 brothers, Joe, Julius, and Marcus Rivera; and 3 sisters, Ruby Kutach, Pauline Perez and Adela Rivera.

Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Friday, April 24, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Thursday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Pallbearers: Alvin Hernandez, Ricky Hernandez, T.J. Hernandez, Jeffery Kazmir, Mike Rodriguez, and Ronnylee Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers: Ulysses Logan and Josh Rodriguez. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
