Obituary

Mrs. Fannie Marie Bishop, 87, formerly of Ezzell, TX, died Jan. 11, 2007. She was born on Feb. 6, 1919 to Anton & Frances Matula Brezik Sr. in Lavaca County, TX. She married Travis F. Bishop on April 3, 1937 in Koerth, TX. She was owner/operator of Bishop Grocery in Ezzell of over 50 years.

Fannie loved to fish and even won a first place trophy while she was at Hearthstone Assisted Living. She enjoyed running her country store and visiting with all of her customers, especially the school children that would come down from Ezzell School. She was always interested in who got a deer, or caught some fish, or where a well was going in. She loved cooking for everyone. There was always room for extras at her table and she always had something good to eat. She loved to sit on the front porch of her home and see everyone who drove by and visit with her family and anyone who stopped by. She liked to watch her cattle and feed them fruit and vegetable peelings. She loved her family and was always happy to see her grandchildren, Brett and Doug and great-grandchildren, Cody, Leah & J.R.

Fannie is survived by: son Danny F. Bishop & wife Janet of Victoria; sister Louise Reckaway of Clute, TX; 2-grandchildren, Brett Bishop of Jersey City, NJ, and Doug Bishop & wife Wendy of Victoria; and 3 great-grandchildren, Cody, Leah & J.R.
