Obituary

Mrs. Eveline C. Bradbury Simpson, 79, of Hallettsville, died January 24, 2007. She was born on June 27, 1927 to Joseph Anton & Veronika Janak Kutach in Lavaca County, Texas. She married John Arthur Bradbury on August 1, 1945 in Hallettsville.

Eveline and Arthur owned and operated the Bradbury Store in Speaks from 1945 to 1995. She was a member of the Serra Club, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of Americas, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. She was appointed Postmaster for Speaks, Texas on May 6, 1978 and retired March 1, 1991. She also was secretary and treasurer for Speaks Community Center from 1964 to 1997. She was a Rancher until 2003. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, hunting, fishing and traveling.

Eveline is survived by: her son William A. Bradbury & his wife Charlene of Hallettsville; 3-grandchildren, Jennifer Bradbury of Elgin, Kimberly Bradbury of Luling, and Kevin Bradbury of San Marcos; brother Joseph Kutach of Hallettsville; and sister Rosie Spacek of Hallettsville.

Eveline was preceded in death by: husband Arthur (February 25, 1977); her parents Joseph Anton & Veronika Janak Kutach; 4-brothers, Steve, Paul, Charlie, and Otto Kutach; and 3-sisters, Pauline Smolik, Veronica Melnar, and Agnes Zahn.

Service: 10 am, Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: Noon, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home, and 9:30am, Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Sacred Heart School Operating Fund. Pallbearers: Tommy Zahn, Harold Ray Wilcoxen, Allen Dunne, Charles Kutach, Bob Parrott, Bill Zahn, Kevin Bradbury, and Martin Cox. Honorary Pallbearers: Dave Kutach and Jerry Kutach. Altar Servers: Jordan Hajek, Scott Huser, Nathan Hollas, and Dillon Hollas. Lector: Lauren Huser.
