Obituary

Eunice Marie "Tootie" New, 83, of Weimar, passed away March 1, 2013. She was born on Oct. 28, 1929 to Elige & Ferraby Selph Briscoe in Daisetta, Texas. She was a member of the Sheridan Baptist Church.

Tootie is survived by: 4 children, Stephen Ray Scott & wife Gloria of Sublime, Kathleen Eunice (Scott) Janak & husband Kelly of Weimar, Patti Nell (New) Mitchell & husband Larry of Navasota, and Daniel Baker New & wife Debi of Sheridan; sister Melva Quinney of Sheridan; 14 grandchildren, Martha Raye (Scott) Westberry & husband Seth of Austin, Amy Marie (Scott) Vanek & husband Lance of Austin, Jason Ford Scott of Alexander, Virginia, Phelan Thomas Scott & wife Robin of Hallettsville, Tucker Newlin Scott & wife Dawn of Hallettsville, Trevor Ford Scott & wife Teddi of Hallettsville, Holly Marie (Scott) Hearn & husband Billy of Hallettsville, Kurt Thomas Janak of Weimar, Luke August Janak of Weimar, Samuel Ford Janak of Weimar, Todd William Nolte of College Station, Ryan Baker New of Weimar, Daniel Baker New Jr. of Sheridan, and Nani Ramos of Hallettsville; and 15 great grandchildren.

Tootie was preceded in death by: 1st husband Ford T. Scott; 2nd husband Guy Baker New; son Thomas Duncan Scott; 2 grandchildren, Cullen Thomas Scott and Lacy Abigail (Nolte) Hamburg; 2 brothers, Edward Briscoe and Mack Ray "Honeyboy" Briscoe; and 2 sisters, Yvonne Botard and Sadie Waddell.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, March 4, 2013, at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 4 pm, Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Terry Horton. Pallbearers (Grandsons): Luke Janak, Kurt Janak, Sam Janak, Dan New, Ryan New, Todd Nolte, Jason Scott, Phelan Scott, Trevor Scott, and Tucker Scott. Memorials: Sheridan Public Library, Cheetham Cemetery Association, or Donor's Choice. Burial: Cheetham Cemetery in Sheridan.
