Eunice Marie Lorfing, 91, of Victoria, passed away February 10, 2021. She was born on August 31, 1929, to Adolph V. & Mary Balusek Fojt, in Sublime, TX.
Eunice grew up and attended school in the Vsetin and Shiloh area where she met her caring and loving husband, Alfred. They were married on September 27, 1947, at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. They began their lives in Schulenburg and then in the Rio Grande Valley where they had their firstborn, Sandra.
In 1956, they made their lifelong home in Victoria, Texas, where soon after their first son, Alan was born. Followed six years later by their second son, Neil.
Eunice was a mother, homemaker, accomplished seamstress to her family, and devoted organic gardener. She was also a long time member of First English Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ruth Circle, Lydia Circle, and Alter Guild. Alfred and Eunice were family-oriented, and found particular joy sharing their faith, hobbies, and family history, especially with their grandchildren.
Eunice is survived by: daughter Sandra Seals of Hallettsville; 2 sons, Alan Lorfing of Inez and Neil Lorfing and wife Janet of Seadrift; brother Delmar Fojt and wife Mary Jane of Victoria; 3 sisters, Alene Steffek and husband Johnnie of Hallettsville, Elrose Kahanek of Hallettsville and Thelma Grohmann of Houston; 9 grandchildren, Brian Seals, Michael Seals, Jason Seals, John Seals, Kellie Martin, Michelle Lorfing, Sandy Whitley, Jason Williams, and April Wittnebert; 29 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eunice was preceded in death by; husband Alfred, parents Adolph & Mary Fojt, brother Marvin Fojt, sister-in-law, Charlene Fojt, brother-in-laws Jesse Kahanek, and Marvin Grohmann, son-in-law Greg Seals, daughter-in-law Debra Lorfing, and grandson Bradley Williams.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the employees of The Courtyard Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Crown Hospice of Victoria for their loving care of Eunice.
Funeral Service: 2 pm, Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Kubena Funeral Home. Prayer Service: starting at 4 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home; with the Visitation following after Prayer. Pallbearers : Jason Seals, Travis Seals, Bryan Martin, Galen Fojt, Ronald Kahanek, and James Kahanek. Honorary Pallbearers: Brian Seals, Michael Seals, John Seals, Zach Wittnebert, and John Parker. Officiant: Pastor Jim Pearson. Memorials: National Federation of the Blind of Texas (314 East Highland Blvd., Austin, Texas 78752), Shiloh Perpetual Care Fund or Donor's Choice. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery. (All attendees should wear masks)
