Eugene was a retired Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, and served from Sept. 8, 1948 to June 29, 1971. He then worked in 1971 as a Radiographic Images Photographer for M. D. Anderson Cancer Center to Jan. 1989. He was a member of the American Legion Post 230, VFW Post 6382, Polish Genealogy Society of America, Czech Heritage Society of Texas, Lavaca County Historical Commission, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Eugene is survived by: wife Irene; 2 sons, Mike E. Szwarc & wife Cynthia Meredith, and Patrick J. Szwarc; and daughter Rebecca J. Szwarc.

Eugene was preceded in death by his first wife Joan Otto Szwarc, and his parents.
