Eugene Victor Jurica, 69, of Moulton, passed away November 21, 2024.  He was born on December 23, 1954, to Victor & Emilie Janacek Jurica in Columbus, TX.  He married Bernice Schramek on January 25, 2003 in Schulenburg, TX.

Eugene lived in St. John most of his life.  He graduated from Schulenburg high school in 1973.  He and his wife Bernice were classmates.  While in high school he played football.  He worked as a mechanic at Voskamp's for a while until he decided to start a construction business with his good friend David.  They built everything you could imagine.

Above all, Eugene loved spending time with his family.  If you would ask him what his greatest accomplishment in life was, he would have said being a dad.  When his granddaughters were born that changed, he then said his greatest accomplishment was being a grandpa.

Eugene loved being outside.  He loved his garden and would spend the whole day out there working on it.  He also had a love of making sauerkraut.  He taught his granddaughters how to build almost everything, how to take care of a garden and how to make sauerkraut.  He also loved spending time with his friends as well, whether it was sitting on the back porch or at Blase's place or Moravia store.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eugene is survived by; daughter Christy Wilson of Moulton, granddaughters, Harley & Heather Wilson, sister Jeanette Chudej of Moravia, brother George Jurica of Katy and numerous nieces & nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by; wife Bernice Jurica, son Jason Jurica, sisters, Irene Palmer & Helen Zinsmeister and brother Melvin Jurica.

Memorial Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville with Visitation starting at 8 am. Memorials: Donor's choice of charity.
