Ethel Charlyne Strode Brothers was born in Hallettsville, Texas, November 4, 1920, to Charles Gear Strode and Veva Mae Timm Strode. She married Robert Edward Brothers of Slayden, Texas, January 18, 1942. They were married until his death, February 27, 1976. They had two children, Beverly Ann and Robert Edward Jr. "Bobby". She was a resident of San Marcos, Texas for thirty-six years and a member of the First Baptist Church of San Marcos. She had a wonderful memory for the stories that tie generation to generation. She also loved a good practical joke.

Charlyne passed over on July 24, 2008. She is survived by her son Bob & his wife Tina, her daughter Beverly Charles & her husband Larry, grandson Jeff Groves & wife Miriana, granddaughter Whitney Plemons & husband Todd, granddaughter Brooke Klemme & husband Phil, granddaughter Felecia Edwards & husband Cliff, and great-grandsons Austin and Logan Plemons.

" They are not dead who live in hearts they leave behind, in those whom they have blessed they live a life again; and shall live through the years eternal life and grow each day more beautiful. As time declares their good, forget the rest, and prove their immortality." -- H. R. Orr
