Mrs. Estella E. Vasek Means, 80, of Hallettsville, Texas, died September 6, 2006. She was born July 8, 1926 to Ladislav & Josephine Tlapal Vasek in Rabb Switch Community east of Hallettsville. She married Charles Means on September 5, 1955 at First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville. She also was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville.

Estella is survived by: 2 sons, Jimmy Means of Houston, and Casey Means of Hallettsville; daughter Sally Jo Rudnick of Chicago, Illinois; and 5 grandchildren.

Estella was preceded in death by: husband Charles on January 2, 2003, 47 years of marriage; parents Ladislav & Josephine Tlapal Vasek; 2 brothers, Richard J. Vasek and Adolph H. Vasek; and sister Ludmila Brown.

Service: 2 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: Noon (12 pm), Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Lundy Hooten. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials: First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville. Pallbearers: Alton Brown, Robert Means, Edwin Gallia, Stan Brown, Judge Tramer Woytek, and Clarence Brown Sr.
