On May 5, 1942, Ernest married Anita J. Matejek at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. In 1942 he began to work for the Tribune Herald in Hallettsville. He continued to work there for 39 years until he retired in 1981, then he continued to work part-time until he suffered a stroke in 1991. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. For many years he worked with the Sacred Heart Parish Bingo project as Treasurer.

Ernest is survived by: wife Anita of 65 years; son Ronald Bohuslav & wife Judy of Conroe; brother Herman Bohuslav of Corpus Christi; 2 sisters, Elsie Darilek of Texas City and Mildred Patek of Victoria; and 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Kevan, and Joshua Bohuslav.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Bohuslav, and sister Helen Farmer.

Service: 10 am, Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 2 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7 pm Friday at Kubena Funeral Home; and 9:30 am Saturday at Sacred Heart Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Ryan Bohuslav, Kevan Bohuslav, Joshua Bohuslav, Edwin Kocian Jr., Darrell Bohuslav, and Gary Patek. Honorary Pallbearers: All Nephews, Nieces, and God-Children. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
